This qualification will enable you to demonstrate and recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate your competence in a real workplace environment so you can work as a health and safety practitioner.
The Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice qualification is aimed at candidates who are responsible for developing and applying health and safety procedures day-to-day in their organisation. They may be a staff member, supervisor or manager looking to improve their knowledge and skills.
Duration: 6-12 months
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.
We will carry out an initial assessment of candidate skills and knowledge to identify any gaps and help plan the assessment.
Assessment is the process of measuring a candidate’s skill, knowledge and understanding against the standards set in the qualification.
This qualification is competence-based, candidates must demonstrate the level of competence described in the units.
The qualification will be assessed in line with the Construction Skills Consolidated Assessment Strategy and will be internally assessed by an appropriately experienced and qualified Assessor.
The assessment process is conducted through our e-portfolio system and it is formed of two parts:
- Knowledge – the candidates are required to complete a workbook
- Practical – evidence to be collected from site visits/ uploaded by the candidate
